These photos are the product of three very different cameras and three very different trips to Quito. Every time I visit, something new and beautiful catches my eye. I capture the moment with whatever device I have on hand.
Quito quite literally leaves you breathless. It is the world’s second-highest capital, at 2850 metres above sea level. Only La Paz in Bolivia stands higher, at a lofty 3640 metres. At this height, simply walking up a flight of stairs can send you spinning from hypoxia.
They say it takes about two weeks to acclimate. I haven’t stayed there long enough to know if that’s true. Perhaps one day I will, and add more to this gallery than these meagre offerings.
